medium wide shot.
over time, i found myself drawn to certain frames. the more i watched, the more i noticed a pattern. when i think of frame space, i always return to the medium-wide shot. it’s where my eye naturally lands, close enough to feel the character, wide enough to see their world.
it gives room for blocking, for background detail, for light to shape the space. it also demands real decisions. you can’t hide behind shallow depth or tight coverage. everything is visible, so everything must be intentional.
i keep coming back to this frame size because it holds both presence and context. the character and their surroundings, together. for me, that’s where the story starts to speak.
